Bengals sucked. Dalton didn’t have any chance to throw the ball down the field. Bengals couldn’t score touchdowns in the red zone. The last two days sucked but I’m feeling GREAT this morning. I have that new month energy and it’s October. We will have playoff baseball, NFL, NCAAF, NHL, and NBA. Lots of action coming up this month and looking back to last October, it should be a great month for us. We went 23-8 in the MLB playoffs last season and our NFL picks went 33-10 in the month of October. It’s time to put together one of our hot streaks and it starts with a high percentage play tonight! It’s another day with a small slate of action with just the one MLB game tonight so just one play tonight but we will have plenty of action the rest of the week and month to make up for the small slates on Monday and Tuesday. NHL starts up tomorrow night and there will be more playoff baseball!

Nationals (Scherzer) (-180) – I’m going with the moneyline in this one but you can get the run line at +115 odds if you are worried about the value. I just have a hard time taking a -1.5 in this game, I especially wouldn’t want to have the run line with a 2 run lead and this Nationals bullpen trying to save it for me. Max Scherzer will take the mound for the Nationals and he has dominant numbers against this Brewers lineup in the past. He has held them to a .137 avg in 109 career at bats. Ryan Braun has been a hero for the Brewers all September and he is questionable to play in this game due to a calf injury but he is 0-14 lifetime against Scherzer. Scherzer faced the Brewers one time during the regular season and he only allowed 1 earned run over 6 innings. I expect him to dominate. The Brewers will open up with Brandon Woodruff who has pitched two 2 inning scoreless appearances since coming back from an injury that caused him to miss two months. His tuneup outings came against the Pirates and Padres. I don’t think Woodruff will be able to go more than 3 or 4 innings. Next up for the Brewers? Jordan Lyles. Let’s give him some credit, he has been great for the Brewers in the second half of the season and they have won the last 8 games that he has pitched in. BUT – this Nationals lineup has a .380 career avg against him in 92 career at bats. After Lyles, it’ll be all hands on deck but this Brewers bullpen isn’t what it was a year ago. The Milwaukee bullpen ERA is 4.39 this year compared to last year’s #5 ranked 3.47. I feel much more comfortable putting my money on Max Scherzer who could very well pitch a complete game shutout against this lineup that he has dominated in the past and don’t forget they will be without Christian Yelich. The Brew Crew made a nice run winning 18 out of 20 to be able to play in this game but 5 of those 6 series during that run were against teams who are not in the playoffs. They also just got swept over the weekend to the Rockies who aren’t in the playoffs. Good run Milwaukee, but it ends tonight. Give me the Nats with Max Scherzer.
