Charles Schwab Challenge PGA Picks, Betting Odds, & Preview
It is fair to say that I cannot wait to watch some golf on TV again! I will get my wish starting on this Thursday when the Charles Schwab Challenge will be played in Fort Worth Texas. This field is stacked with names like Rory Mcilroy, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and many more. The tournament will by far have the best field it’s ever had since this is the first tournament post the COVID layoff. We have not had golf since play was cancelled back in March during The Players Championship.
While there may be no fans, a really cool thing that the PGA implemented this week is several of the players will be mic’d up on the course. I am sure this idea gained a lot of steam after the success of the Brady and Phil vs Tiger and Manning. This can be a really cool feature that can interest any level of fan.
Charles Schwab Challenge PGA Results
The top 5 finishers from last years’ 2019 Charles Schwab tournament were:
Kevin Na (-13)
Tony Finau (-9)
Andrew Putnam (-8)
C.T. Pan (-8)
Jonas Blixt (-7)
With golf back, we decided to hit you guys with couple quick thoughts and picks for this week. It is tough to gauge how players will be playing, as we have no clue how much golf these people have been playing amid the crisis. It’s fair to expect these professionals have been able to at least go to a range for the majority of the days and stay in shape. One thing we know is these professionals have not been playing in large field competitive tournaments. It is very tough to replicate the feeling of being in the hunt in a tournament. This tournament has a lot of the biggest names in the game of golf, but this one could very well get stolen by a lesser known player.
My Best Bet:
The top bet of the week is Tony Finau to finish in the top 10 (+400). As you can see in the above final standings from last year, Finau had a great run here in Texas. He will be looking to put on a similar type performance this year and I don’t see why he couldn’t. His experience from last year will be an advantage for him. Some of the other players in this field haven’t really played at this course much due to scheduling. Finau is def worth taking a look at at +400 this week.
