We started the week off with some tough luck. We went 0-1 on Monday but 2 of the games that we bet on got cancelled so our action was limited. Tuesday was a 1-2 night with a team that had a .379 avg in over 150 at bats against the opposing starter that could only score 2 runs off of him. We were down 2 units on the week going into Wednesday. The thing is, at KofSports we never hide our results or back down, we double or triple down. Wednesday night presented the first opportunity for us to drop a JACKHAMMER which are our most confident picks that we suggest betting 2 or 3 times what you normally bet. It was a good night for us, let’s take a look back at the picks and review the results for our MLB expert picks 7-29.
VIP Pick Review
Yankees (Cole) (-1.5) – JACKHAMMER
The Yankees and Orioles will now play the next two nights because their original opponents need to quarantine themselves. Luckily for us, the Yankees should demolish the Orioles since they went 17-2 against them last season and covered the run line in 15 of those 17 wins. Gerrit Cole will pitch for the Yanks tonight and he has held this Orioles lineup to a .176 avg in 34 at bats. The Yanks will face Asher Wojciechowski (had to spell it out at least once) who they beat 9-4 last season and scored 5 earned in 4 innings against him. This is the best bet of the night and you can be confident doubling or tripling down on this one to make up for the juice.
I will also call out that the Yankees team total is set at (5.5) and they went over (5.5) in ALL 10 games they played in Baltimore last season. They averaged 9.5 runs per game in those games. This is a nice option if you don’t want to play the juice on the run line.
Review – WINNER – So let’s start off by talking about the elephant in the room, there was a lot of juice on this run line (-200). “Anyone can pick -200” plays is the shit that haters will talk. But (-200) isn’t that bad when you bet 2 or 3 times what you normally bet. We also included the Yankees team total as an alternative (or additional) option that closed at (-115) so the haters can shut the fuck up. 3 units on that and it hit in the 6th inning. It didn’t take long for the Yankees to get going, Dj LeMahieu hit the second pitch of the game out of the park. Aaron Judge and Aaron Hicks both homered in the 3rd inning. The Yanks scored 2 more in the 6th and 2 more in the 9th. Gerrit Cole got the win going 6.2 innings and allowing 3 runs. Great winner(s) here whether you hit the run line, team total, or both!
Brewers (Woodruff) (-150)
The Brew Crew will face Joe Musgrove who they scored 8 runs in 12 innings against last season. They also hit 5 homeruns off of him. Yelich, Gamel, Arcia, Smoak, and Gyorko are all hitting above .300 against Musgrove lifetime. Brandon Woodruff will pitch for the Brewers and they won all 4 games that he pitched against the Pirates last season. The highlight of those games for him was on 6/29/19 when he pitched 7.2 innings and only allowed 1 run. I like the Brew Crew in this one.
Review – Winner – We really liked the success that Brandon Woodruff had against the Pirates in 2019 going 4-0 against them and he picked up right where he left off. He pitched 6.1 innings and only allowed 1 hit! We got homeruns from Ben Gamel and Keston Hiura to get the 3-0 victory in this one! This line actually came down and you could have got it around -140 closer to first pitch.
Yankees ML / Twins ML (+104)
Taking the two scoops on the Yankees tonight. We are playing the run line separate. However, this moneyline parlay with the Twins has a better payout at just over even money. The Yanks will have Cole pitching tonight and they went 17-2 against the Orioles last season. Cole has held this Orioles lineup to a .176 avg in a small sample size. The Twins will have Rich Hill on the mound tonight. He had a 2.45 ERA in a shortened season in 2019. He’s held this Cardinals lineup to a .235 avg in 51 at bats. Ol man Rich Hill should get plenty of run support from the Twins offense. They lead the league in runs scored per game at 8.25 going into tonight. Ponce de Leon only made one start against a “good” lineup last year when he faced the Astros and he gave up 5 runs in 2.1 innings. Yanks and Twins at plus money is looking good tonight!
Review – Winner – One thing we rarely do is double dip on a team because if they don’t come through it can spoil a night. However, the Yanks had a great matchup so we didn’t hesitate to double and triple dip on them last night. We only needed them to win straight up for this parlay and they cruised to the easy 9-3 win. Then we had the Twins who have the best offense in the league based on runs per game. They cruised to their 3-0 win. Ol man Rich Hill pitched very well going 5 scoreless innings and only allowing 2 hits. Great parlay win at (+104) with two heavily favored teams.
Red Sox / Mets No runs in the 1st
Result – LOSER – This was the one VIP play that spoiled our perfect night. It was a fucking fielder’s choice that ruined it. No runs in the first are always an adrenaline rush but they aren’t as successful as you think. *NOTED*
We went into last night down 2 units. If you hit both the Yankees run line and team total for 3 units and 1 unit on the other plays, we finished the night up 4.81 units. We are going into tonight with plenty of momentum. LFG! Great night for our MLB expert picks 7-29! You can become a VIP member today for as little as $25. Get over to our Join Us page to sign up now!
