We were looking to start our week with a BANG and that’s exactly what we did with yesterday’s JACKHAMMER. JACKHAMMER’s are our most confident picks and you can feel confident doubling down or tripling down on these plays. They are hitting at over 70% lifetime. We ended up going 2-1 last night but we profited just under 3 units depending on how hard you hit the HAMMER. Let’s take a look back at last night’s VIP picks and review the results.
VIP Pick Review 8/3
Cross Sport Parlay:
Pacers ML / Yankees ML (-156) – JACKHAMMER – The Pacers are coming off of an impressive win in their return to action against the Sixers. The Wizards on the other hand have lost their 2 games since the restart to worse teams and those losses have come by 8 and 13 points. Indy beat Was 121-106 in their only head to head meeting this season. The Pacers are battling for the 4 or 5 seed while the Wizards are 7 games out from the 8 seed. Indy has more to play for and should get this win.
Then we have the Yankees who will be taking on the Phillies. The Phils have been off the last week due to a Covid outbreak and precautions. Since then, the Yankees have been on fire winning 5 straight games and Aaron Judge has homered in each of those games. The Phillies will have the tall task of facing the best pitcher in the game after they were forced to take a week off. Cole is 2-0 with a 3.09 ERA this season. JT Realmuto is an unbelievable 10-14 lifetime off of Cole but no other eye openers for head to head stats. The Phillies also lost 2 out of 3 to the Marlins before their week off. Yanks should win this one.
Results – Winner – The Pacers let the Wizards hang around for the first quarter but that was about it. Indiana then cruised ahead to a 22 point lead in the 3rd quarter before the Wizards closes the gap in the 4th. The Pacers were in control of this game and ended up winning 111-100. There was never really any doubt with this one. Then we had the Yankees with Gerrit Cole on the mound against a Phillies team that hadn’t been able to play baseball for a week. DJ LeMahieu led the game off with a homerun. The Yanks got out to a 6-1 lead before a rain delay then ended up winning 6-3. This one closed at (-150) which isn’t bad, especially when you are betting 3 times what you normally bet.
Indians / Reds Under (8) – This one is looking like it will be a pitcher’s duel. Zach Plesac will pitch for the Indians and he pitched 8 scoreless innings in his first start of the season. He’s held this Refs lineup to a .214 avg in a small sample size. Sonny Gray will pitch for the Reds and he’s only allowed 1 run in 12.2 innings this season. He has held this Indians lineup to a .182 avg in 77 at bats. The Indians have gone under or pushed at 8 in 9 of their 10 games this season. I like the under in this one.
Result – Winner – Reds 3 Indians 2 – We were really liking the starting pitcher in this one and they showed up. They both ended up pitching 6 or more innings and allowing 3 or less earned runs. It was a little nerve racking when Sonny Gray allowed 2 runs through the first two innings but that was all he would allow. Plesac was good too but he ended up allowing 2 homeruns that led to the 3 runs for the Reds. Both bullpens were lights out and we closed out this winner.
Dodgers (Buehler) (-145) – The Dodgers will face the Padres and Chris Paddack who they went 2-1 against in 2019. In those 2 wins, they scored 12 runs in 8.2 innings against him. They have a .275 avg in 40 at bats against him. Walker Buehler will pitch for the Dodgers and he has held this Padres lineup to a .176 avg in 34 at bats. Buehler allowed just 1 run in 15 innings against this Padres lineup last season.
Results – Loser – This one had a good start with Joc Pederson hitting a lead off homerun in the top of the first inning but it was really all Padres after that. Walker Buehler wasn’t bad but we expected him to be better based on his previous numbers against the Padres last season.
