We went 1-1 on Thursday night but we still profited with the +141 parlay hitting. Here’s a look back at the picks!
VIP Pick Review:
Golden Knights ML / Cubs ML (+141) –
How hot are the Cubs? 12-3 to start the season with 8 wins coming by 2 runs or more and beating teams by an average of 3.25 runs per game. They will take on the Brewers tonight who have lost 3 of their last 5 and who they are 2-1 against this season. Yu Darvish will pitch for the Cubs and he is 2-1 with a 2.12 ERA this season. It should be noted that his one loss did come against the Brewers but he has had long term success against them. He’s held this Brewers lineup to a .204 avg in 98 at bats. The Cubs lineup is currently ranked #2 in the league in runs per game with 5.27. They will face Brett Anderson tonight who comes in 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA on the season. 5 out of the 9 hitters in the Cubs lineup is hitting over .300 in their career against Brett Anderson although they are all small sample sizes.
The Golden Knights outplayed the Blackhawks in Game 1 like you would expect a 1 seed vs an 8 seed. The Blackhawks were actually the 12 seed before they won their play in series to get the 8 seed with the Covid structure. The Golden Knights had 14 more shots on goal, 34 to 20 and 15 more hits, 35 to 20. They were the more physical team and that led to a 4-1 victory. Vegas is now 15-2 in their last 17 games and a perfect 4-0 since the restart with 3 of those 4 postseason wins coming by 2 goals or more. It’s hard night to ride a team as hot as Vegas right now. Go Knights!
Bruins (-140) – These two teams played each other tough yesterday morning but the Bruins got a boost of momentum by winning in double overtime! The B’s were sloppy with the puck and had 22 giveaways yesterday and one of them led to a break away short handed goal for the Canes. The eye popping number here is that the Bruins improved to 8-1 against this Hurricanes team since the beginning of the 2018-2019 season. That includes their first round sweep against the Canes last year as well. The Bruins have won those 8 games by an average of 2.125 goals per game. The Canes seem to be in a vulnerable spot after the schedule changed. The Bruins have all of the momentum and it’s a quick turn around on a back to back thanks to the delay of Game 1 due to the TB and Columbus game on Tuesday. This Bruins team is dangerous when they get some momentum and it showed in the regular season when they had separate winning streaks of 8, 6, 6, and 5. I think the B’s are in a good spot here and they will come out with a commanding 2-0 series lead tonight.
