We came into Monday looking to get started on another winning week after having winning days 4 out of the last 5 days. Let’s take a look back at the best sports picks 8-17 and review the results.
Raptors ML / Celtics ML (-146) – Two big favorites here but lining up at -146 isn’t bad value. The Raptors will play Game 1 against the Nets who they went 3-1 against this season. The Celtics will take one the Sixers who they are 1-3 against this season but the Sixers will be without Ben Simmons after knee surgery. Simmons scores 50 points in the 3 wins against the Celtics this season. The Sixers haven’t had a problem scoring but they have gone just 4-4 since the restart. The Celtics have gone 6-2 in games that their starters played since the restart. I’m expecting both the Raptors and Celtics to start their series with wins.
Fucking easy winner. The Raptors came out red hot and they could not miss a shot if they tried. They scored 73 points in the first half and this one was over by half time. I got a chuckle when my ESPN APP ALERTED me that there was a close game between the Raptors and Nets in the 4th quarter and the Raptors still won by 24 points. The Celtics played good team defense and played 3 strong quarters in this one. They went 5 minutes without scoring at the end of the 3rd quarter but they outscored the Sixers 34-22 in the 4th. Jason Tatum scored 32 points. Easy winner.
Yankees (Montgomery) ML / Dodgers (Stripling) ML (+119) – JACKHAMMER – The Yankees are a perfect 6-0 against the Red Sox this season and all 6 of those wins have come by 2 runs or more. To show the level of dominance, the Yankees have won those games by an average of 4 runs per game. Jordan Montgomery will start for the Yankees and he held this Sox lineup to 1 run over 5.2 innings in his last start against them on 7/31. Martin Perez will pitch for the Sox and the Yankees have hit him for a .306 in 36 at bats. Perez hasn’t pitched against the Yankees lineup yet this season. The Dodgers will play the Mariners who are on a 3-12 stretch in their last 15 games. 8 of those 12 losses have come by 2 runs or more. The Dodgers are riding a 5 game winning streak into tonight and 4 of those 5 wins came by 3 runs or more. Ross Stripling will pitch for the Dodgers and he is 3-1 this season. Look for the looooooong road trip to continue for the Mariners. JACKHAMMER!!
JACKHAMMERS are our most confident picks. Double down, triple down, bet whatever the fuck you want on these picks. The Red Sox are putting together their worst season in franchise history and there was no doubt that the Yankees would beat up on them. The only chance there was for us to lose this pick is if the game got rained out in the 4th inning. The rain delay came to an end and the Yankees ran away with this one. They we had the Dodgers who got out to a 6-2 lead. However Ross Stripling decided to make things interesting and was putting the ball on a tee for the worst offense in the league. Never count out this Dodgers team though. The scored 5 runs in the 7th inning to take a lead that they wouldn’t give up. KIKE fucking Hernandez hit a bomb to seal the deal for us. I love Kike!! Mookie went yard for us too.
Tigers / White Sox Over (9.5) – Both of these starting pitchers have been getting knocked around this season. Matthew Boyd has allowed 7 runs in 4.2 innings in two straight starts. His last start was against this White Sox lineup and the final score in that game was 7-5. His start before that had a final score of 17-13. The White Sox have scored 7+ runs in 3 of their last 5 games. All 4 of Gio Gonzalez’s starts have gone over 9.5 with an average of 13.75 runs per game. All the trends scream OVER in this one.
The White Sox started off the first inning by hitting back to back homeruns against Matthew Boyd for the second time in 5 days. The Tigers seemed to have left their bats at home but we still only missed this one by 1 run.
