Avalanche / Stars Over (6) – All 5 games in this series have gone over 6 with total scores of 8, 7, 10, 9, & 9. It’s tough not to take the over again tonight seeing those trends. The winning team in each game has scored 5 or more goals themselves. The Avs scored 5 goals in the first period on Monday. Let’s ride the over trends here and put our money on another OVER in Game 6.
Result – Loss – missed by an open net.
Indians (McKenzie) (-156) – The eye opener in this matchup is the success that this Indians lineup has had against Royals starter Jakob Junis. They have a .360 avg and .592 slugging % against him in 125 career at bats. Lindor has raked against Junis – 16-32 with 3 doubles, 1 triple, & 4 homeruns. The Indians have gone 4-1 in their last 5 games against Junis. Triston McKenzie will pitch for the Indians and he has 2 solid starts under his belt this season. He’s only allowed 3 runs in 10 innings. The Tribe has backed him up with plenty of run support (outscoring opponents 20-3 in his starts) and that should be the case again tonight with their success against Junis.
Result – Winner – Indians 5 Royals 0 – Triston McKenzie put together another solid outing for us and only allowed 3 hits in 6 scoreless innings. The Indians took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning with a homerun from Tyler Naquin and then they got another 3 run homerun in the 9th from Naquin for some insurance. This one was really never in doubt. Great win for us!
Cross Sport Parlay:
Astros (Javier) ML / Rockets ML (+110) –
Look, I’m pissed at what the Astros did to us last night. Blow a 4-3 lead in the 9th then give up 2 runs without allowing a hit in the 10th. It was bullshit but sometimes it’s best to come right back to the honey hole the very next night.
The Astros will have 3-1 Cristian Javier on the mound and he has allowed 3 or less runs in 6 of his 7 starts this season. Kolby Allard will pitch for the Rangers and he has lost his last 3 starts while allowing 12 runs in his last 9 innings pitched. The Astros should bounce back nicely against Allard tonight and this one shouldn’t be close like last night.
Rockets Game 7. The Rockets took a 2-0 lead in this series before the Thunder went on to win 3 of the next 4 games. The Rockets got Russell Westbrook back in Game 5 and won 114-80. It’s hard to ignore that game even though they came back and lost Game 6 by 4 points. They were sloppy in Game 6. The key to this game for the Rockets is to secure the ball and not be sloppy. They have averaged 8.3 turnovers per game in their wins and 17.3 turnovers per game in their losses. They committed 22 turnovers on Monday and still only lost by 4 points. I expect the Rockets to clean things up and get the win in this Game 7.
Result – Winner – Astros 2 Rangers 1 / Rockets 104 Thunder 102 – What’s the saying? “A win is a win.” Both of these were close but at the end of the day we only needed both teams to win straight up to complete the moneyline parlay. We put the Astros on the Rockets and they took us to the fucking moon to close out a winning night!
