Well that’s how you go from an 0-1 start to the day to a solid 2-1 day yesterday with the addition on the Reds/Yankees parlay after the Rays let us down. If you missed it, turn on twitter and Instagram notifications so you don’t miss it next time. 6-2 to start the week and we get more NFL action tonight which we are 9-1 on straight plays this season. YOU READY!? LFG!!!
Celtics (-145) – Not sure there’s ever been a team to have as many double digit leads and blown them in the playoffs. In Game 1 of this series and the last series against the Raptors the Celtics would pull away with a 10+ point lead and by the time you grab a beer out of the fridge it’s down to 2. I do like the fact that they have got those leads, they just need to close them out. The Celtics were outscored by 12 in the 4th quarter and still had multiple chances to win this game. Kemba Walker has been struggling (1-9 from down town in Game 1) and his production is key to the Celtics to win tonight. I expect a strong and intense defensive performance, a solid offensive performance, and coaching adjustments to lead to the Celtics evening up the series tonight.
Result – Loss – Heat 106 Celtics 101
Yankees (Tanaka) ML / Indians (Bieber) ML (-101) – The Yankees are getting hot at the right time and they have won 7 in a row. The Yanks have also outscored the Blue Jays 33-8 over the last two nights. They should put up another chunk of runs against Chase Anderson tonight who has allowed 10 runs in his last 6.2 innings pitched. Tanaka will take the mound for New York and he’s held this Toronto lineup to a .216 avg in 97 career at bats.
The Indians have lost 8 games in a row but they will snap that streak tonight with Bieber on the mound. He’s 7-1 with a 1.53 ERA this season and he pitched 7 scoreless innings the last time he faced this Tigers lineup on 8/15. Casey Mize will pitch for the Tigers and he’s 0-1 with a 5.85 ERA this season. Don’t expect him to go frame for frame with Bieber as he’s only pitched more than 5 innings in 1 of his 5 starts this season. The Tigers bullpen ranks #25 out of 30 in ERA this season. Go Tribe!
Result – Win – Yankees 10 Blue Jays 7 / Indians 10 Tigers 3
Bengals (+12) / Over (37.5) – As bad as I want to take Bengals moneyline in this one, the +12 is the higher percentage play and I want to keep building on our 9-1 start to the season for straight plays. The Browns are coming off of a game where they were embarrassed 38-6. They were sloppy in that game and racked up 80 yards worth of penalties. No surprise after they were the 4th most penalized team last season. They do have the weapons to put up points so you have to think they will be better tonight (atleast to get us a couple touchdowns for the teased over). The Bengals had chances to win/tie the game late last week before their kicker “had a cramp” on the game tying field goal attempt with 2 seconds left. The Bengals covered +12 and the total went over 37.5 in both head to head meetings last year and now they have Joe Burrow. This teaser seems like a no brainer.
Result – Win – Browns 35 Bengals 30
