2-1-1 yesterday and the Indians were the team that let us down again after blowing a lead late. The Celtics didn’t blow their lead and the football game went WAY over. We enter Week 2 of the NFL season 10-1 on straight plays! Let’s see what we have to build on that today.

1:00 EST

Packers (0) / Titans (-1.5) – Aaron Rodgers opened up the season by throwing for 4 touchdowns and 364 yards against the Vikings defense. This Packers offense got whatever they wanted in that game. The Lions entered the 4th quarter winning 23-6 last week before giving up 21 straight points to lose 27-23. The Packers went 2-0 against the Lions last year but both games were decided by 3 or less points. That’s why we play the teaser to get the spread at 0.

The Titans needed a last minute field goal to win their season opener but that was because Gostkowski missed 3 field goals and an extra point earlier in the game. The last time these two played, the Titans jumped out to a 35-3 lead. Derrick Henry ran for 159 yards and 2 TDs. The only 2 TDs the Jags scored in that game were scored by Leonard Fornette who is no longer a Jaguar. The Titans looked good in their opener but there’s no question they need to improve on special teams. Hoping that doesn’t come in to play here for them to cover -1.5 against a team they DOMINATED the last time they played them.

Result – Win

Against the Spread

Bills (-5.5) – Buffalo went 2-0 against Miami last year and covered -5.5 in both of those wins. They won 37-20 in Miami last year. Josh Allen picked apart the Dolphins defense for 3 passing touchdowns and he also ran for one. The Dolphins couldn’t stop the run last week against the Patriots when they allowed 217 yards on the ground. The Bills may look to get the run going and that’ll open things up for Josh Allen to maybe link up with Diggs for a big one today! I’m confident in the Bills to take care of business and cover -5.5 today.

Result – Loss – terrible back door beat

4:25 EST

Ravens (-1.5) / Chiefs (-3) – The Ravens and Lamar Jackson picked up right where they left off in the regular season last year with a blowout 38-6 Week 1 win over the Browns. They will take on the Texans today who really struggled on offense in their opener against the Chiefs. It was 31-7 at one point in the 4th quarter in that game. These two teams played last season and the Ravens won 41-7. Lamar Jackson threw 4 TDs in that game so expect him to pick on this Houston secondary. Ravens should win this game and cover.

The Chiefs looked great in their season opener more than a week ago and they have had some extra time to prepare for their first divisional game today against the Chargers. The Chiefs went 2-0 against the Chargers last season and won both of those games by 7 or more. It took a 10 point 4th quarter rally for the Chargers to sneak by the Bengals 16-13 last week. It’s hard to see the Chiefs not covering the -3 for this teaser today, they are just the better team in every aspect of the game.

Result – Push

Cross Sport Parlay:

3:10 EST

Dodgers (Gonsolin) ML / Lakers ML (-105) – The Dodgers have won 5 games in a row and they have out scored the Rockies by 20 runs over the last 3 games. The Dodgers will face Antonio Senzatela and they come in with a solid .340 avg in 103 at bats against him. Tony Gonsolin will pitch for the Dodgers and he’s held this Rockies lineup to a .161 avg in a small sample size.

The Lakers beat the Nuggets 126-114 in Game 1 but the game wasn’t even as close as the score indicates. The Lakers absolutely dominated the Nuggets and I’m expecting more of the same tonight. The Nuggets could not stop Anthony Davis who went off for 37 points. Look for the Lakers to attack the same way in Game 2. I don’t see them losing this game.

Result – Loss

Seahawks / Patriots Over (45) – This one should be a fun one to watch with Russell Wilson going up against Cam Newton. The Seahawks put up 38 against the Falcons last week and they will be a tougher test for this Pats defense than the Dolphins were last week. The Seahawks defense allowed 25 points to the Falcons and Matt Ryan was able to throw for 450 yards. I expect the Cam Newton led Pats offense to put up points tonight and they should look to open up the playbook a little more going into Week 2. The Pats scored 21 last week but also fumbled on the 1 yard line. 27-24 doesn’t seem crazy for this one.

Result – Win – over by 3 touchdowns
