2-1 last night with the Yankees over hitting in the 4th inning and the L.A. parlay coming through at +116! If 1 of the 3 had to lose I’d pick the Cubs anyway since the other 2 had better odds. 6-1 to start the week and 14-3-1 since last Saturday! Let’s keep it going today!!
2:00 EST Parlay Cubs (Darvish) ML / Dodgers (Kershaw) ML (+117) – The Cubs lost due to a 5 run 7th inning for the Marlins yesterday but they will counter with Yu Darvish today. Darvish is 8-3 this season with a 2.01 ERA. He’s also held this Marlins lineup to a .213 avg in 61 at bats. The Cubs will face Sixto Sanchez who they have never faced since he’s 22 years old. Sanchez has allowed 9 runs in his last 7 innings pitched so the Cubs should be able to get to him. GO CUBS GO!
Cubs Game has been cancelled. The pick is now Dodgers Run Line:
Dodgers (Kershaw) (-1.5) – The Dodgers will have Clayton Kershaw pitching and a lot has been made about him and his post season struggles in his career. With that said, he allowed 1 run in 7 innings in his last playoff start against this Brewers team. It also helps that he should get plenty of run support. Not only is this Dodgers lineup the best lineup in the league, they also come in with a .364 avg in a small sample size against Brewers starter Brandon Woodruff. I like the Dodgers to get this win tonight.
Result – WIN
Cardinals (Wainwright) (+139) – The Cardinals will face Zach Davies who they have hit hard in the past. They come in with a .303 career avg against him in over 100 at bats. Davies has allowed 3 runs in 3 of his last 4 starts. The Cards also scored 7 runs yesterday. Adam Wainwright will make the start for the Cards and they will count on him to go deep since they used 5 guys out of their bullpen in yesterday’s win. Luckily for them, Wainwright has pitched 6+ innings in 8 of his 10 starts this season. He’s held this Padres lineup to a modest .250 avg although about 2/3 of the at bats are from two guys. I think this is a good spot for the +140 underdog Cardinals to follow up yesterday’s 7-4 win.
Result – Loss thanks to a blown 6-2 lead
Melvin Gordon Total Rushing Yards Over (64.5) – I won’t touch picking the winner of this game with a 10 foot pole but this player prop looks good. Gordon has gone over 64.5 rushing yards in 2 of the first 3 games including 70 against the Steelers. The Steelers are the #1 ranked run defense through the first 3 weeks. The Jets on the other hand rank #24 against the run and have allowed 133 rushing yards per game. Pair that with the fact that the Broncos will be starting a 3rd string quarterback and I expect Gordon to get plenty of touches tonight. Over!
Result – WIN
