Let’s look back at our pick from Game 7 of the World Series last year where we went 5-2.
Nationals (Scherzer) (+120) – Scherzer caught some heat for missing his scheduled start in Game 5 due to neck spasms but this has worked out nicely for the Nationals. They have the advantage tonight with their #1 going against the Astros #3. Scherzer has pitched in 5 games this postseason and the Nats have won every game he has pitched in. The Astros made him work in Game 1 where he threw 112 pitches through 5 innings. The Astros have a really good lineup, I’m not worried that he only lasted 5 innings in that game. Now we turn to the Nats vs Greinke. They only scored 1 run over 4.2 innings against him in Game 3 but they went 0-10 with runners in scoring position and left 12 guys on base in that game. They had their chances to put up a crooked number against Greinke in that game. This Nats lineup comes in hitting .309 in 136 career at bats against Greinke. Another factor is that neither team will hold anything back tonight, you could see Gerrit Cole out of the bullpen for the Astros. I’m confident in Scherzer going deep in this game and the Nats seem like that team of destiny. This would be the first time in history that the road team has won every game of the World Series in a 7 game series. GO NATS!
