The final Monday Night Football game of the season is upon us unless a playoff game gets pushed to a Monday because of Covid. We have the 11-3 Bills going on the road to take on the 6-8 Patriots. Let’s take a look at our single game DFS picks for tonight’s game.
Stefon Diggs WR – Diggs will be the MVP in about 90% of the lineups tonight but for good reason. He has GONE off in his last two games for 147 yards and 130 yards. He put up 20+ fantasy points in 3 of his last 5 games. He had 6 catches for 92 yards in the first matchup against the Pats this season. However, the Patriots top corner Stephone Gilmore is officially out for the rest of the season with an injury. 25 year old J.C. Jackson will take his spot tonight and Diggs will be a tough test for him. Diggs should put together a big game. As much as you want to try and differentiate yourself from the public, Diggs could very well have a game where you need him in your MVP slot and you won’t compete without him there.
Sony Michel RB – Reports are saying that it’s not looking like Damien Harris will be playing tonight so Sony Michel will be taking the lead in the Pats backfield. The Patriots rank #2 in running play percentage only behind the Ravens so expect them to continue to run the ball tonight. He ran for 74 yards last week and could be in for a heavier work load with Harris out. I don’t expect the Pats to come out firing away through the air so Michel should be a solid play at a mid level salary tonight.
Dawson Knox TE – The Pats have been good defending tight ends this season but looking through the lower priced players, I think Knox has the most upside tonight. He has haled in a touchdown in 3 out of his last 4 games. Pretty good trends for $7,500, let’s take a chance with him making it 4 out of his last 5 tonight!
Cam Newton QB – $15,000 price tag who has 12.16, 5.36, 23.56, & 5.96 points over his last 4 games? No thanks. He’s also been racking up negative points with interceptions and fumbles in those games. He did have 18.36 fantasy points in the first game against the Bills and even had a chance to finish off a game winning drive but he fumbled. Cam wants to prove that he can be the successor to the greatest QB of All Time but he won’t have a fighting chance until he has some help around him. The offense is one dimensional right now and I won’t take up $15k of salary with what he has (or more like hasn’t done) in recent weeks. Sorry Cam, benched.
Cole Beasley WR – Cole Beasley has been hit or miss this season and he was held to just 3.4 fantasy points in the first game against the Patriots this season. He has been held to single digit fantasy points in 7 games this season. $13,000 is a big price tag for him with those results. There’s potential with him and the price is so high because he had 10+ targets in 4 of his last 5 games but the actual results don’t lie. $13k too much for a tier 2 WR.
James White RB – James White has only scored in one game this season against the Cardinals where he actually scored twice. White has always had good potential in fantasy because of his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He hasn’t really had any huge games this season other than that 2 touchdown game against the Cardinals. White was held to just 2 catches and 4.5 fantasy points in the first game against the Bills earlier this season.
