It’s that time of year again where you get to bet on the NFL without actually betting on a game. Last year’s draft was a major betting event because it was a nice break from betting on KBO, ping pong, and Madden simulations (thanks Corona Virus). This year’s draft is very exciting and it feels like there is a lot of potential for things to shake up. The only “sure” thing in tonight’s draft is that Trevor Lawrence is going to go #1 overall. Unfortunately for us sports bettors we would need to risk $10,000 just to win $20 on that. Let’s take a look at some more valuable bets for tonight.
NFL Match Bets:
I think there is good value on taking Justin Fields to get drafted ahead of Trey Lance. What will the 49ers do at 3? Do they like Trey Lance, Justin Fields, or Mac Jones better? I think this is the team that would need to take Lance for him to be drafted before Fields. After that, it sounds like the other teams who are looking for a QB (or trading up for a QB) are all about Fields. Some Mock Drafts have Lance falling to the mid first round. This one is tough to predict but I think the +180 value play makes sense here. Especially if the scouts were watching the College Football playoff when Fields threw all over Clemson and outplayed the #1 pick in tonight’s draft.
More value on this pick with Kyle Trask at -102 odds. A little surprising to see Mond coming in favored to be drafted higher than Trask. Who would you take based on this? 6’3 217 – 2,282 yards, and 19 touchdowns vs 6’5 240 – 4,283 yards and 43 touchdowns? Yeah, I would take Kyle Trask too and that’s who I’m putting my money on for this one.
Waddle only played in 4 regular season games and 1 playoff game last season due to an injury but when this guy is healthy he is a Top 10 kind of guy. Atlanta, Cinci, or Miami all make sense 4 through 6. I think we will see him go to one of those teams and the -110 on Under 9.5 is looking good.
I will be active on Twitter throughout the draft and I’m sure there will be a few live bets that I tweet out tonight so be sure to stay tuned for those.
