VIP Picks 6/21/24

1-1 could have been better could have been worse….what the fuck happened to Gil yesterday!? 6.1 scoreless the first time he faced the O’s and then he got tagged yesterday. Still bout even on the week so let’s get to going tonight.

MLB:

2:20 EST

Cubs (Imanaga) (-142) 🥇

  • Friday afternoon at Wrigley is always a nice start to the weekend so let’s jump on the Cubs today.

  • Imanaga will pitch for the Cubs and he was great against the Mets the first time he faced them this season where he threw 7 scoreless innings and only allowed 3 hits. He also had 7 strikeouts in that game. He’s still 3rd in ERA at 1.89 on the season so always a solid option to bet on.

  • Jose Quintana will pitch for the Mets and he’s not the same guy who used to be. 2-5 this season with a 6.68 ERA on the road. He hasn’t faced the Cubs this season but they come in hitting .276 against him.

10:10 EST

Dodgers (-1.5) 🥈

  • The Dodgers have won 4 of their last 5 and they’ve covered the -1.5 run line in all 4 of those wins.

  • LA gets to go against 2-8 Patrick Sandoval tonight and they come in hitting just under .300 against him so they should hit him hard just like every other team has been doing this season.

  • Landon Knack will pitch for the Dodgers and he’s only got 4 starts at the Major League level under his belt but he’s been solid to this point and the Dodgers should have his back with some run support tonight.

NHL:

8:00 EST

Panthers (Even) 🥉

  • I mean we’ve been all over the Panthers in this series so it started great for us but we’ve been slipping a bit. I’ll take the even money for the potential close out game on the road tonight.

  • Florida is 0 for 7 on the Power Play in the last 2 games and they have given up 11 Power Plays to the Oilers. THAT needs to change for them to close this series out tonight or in Game 7. If it doesn’t change, they will blow the 3-0 series lead.

  • The Panthers outshot the Oilers 32-24 and out hit them 44 to 16 in Game 5.

  • Look for an extra level of desperation from the Panthers tonight who don’t forget came up short last season and certainly don’t want to let this momentum shift all the way back for a winner take all Game 7.
